The Para 3 takes all the proven features and benefits of Spyderco’s best-selling Para Military™2 and distills them into an even more compact all-purpose cutting tool. Its three-inch blade is precision machined from premium CPM® S45VN® particle metallurgy stainless steel and features a full-flat grind for a superior balance of strength, point utility, and low-friction cutting performance. It includes a textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp that provide a solid purchase for a forward grip and offer enhanced control during precise cutting tasks. The blade’s signature Trademark Round Hole™ clearly brands it as a member of the Spyderco family and is fully accessible to allow quick, positive, one-handed opening with either hand. To keep the Para 3 slim and pocket friendly, it features a lightweight, open-backed construction style and its stainless steel liners are nested into machined recesses in the textured G-10 scales. This reduces the handle thickness and provides excellent structural support for the knife’s patented Compression Lock™. Located in the spine of the handle, this high-strength mechanism locks the blade securely open during use, yet allows it to be closed easily and safely with only one hand. A four-position hourglass clip and an oversized lined lanyard hole complete the design, offering ambidextrous tip-up or tip-down carry and allowing the easy attachment of fobs and lanyards. My 5th Spydey.

Hard to believe that a couple years ago o thought Spyderco were ugly and I had never desire to own one.
After handling a buddy's I decided to take the plunge with a P2. I now own a Manix, Shaman, Smok and this P3. My new favourite. Great quality and the most insane flipping action. I shied away from shorter blades but now believe the P3 is the perfect knife.

Do they look weird? If you’re used to a classic old school folder then yes. Some people find the ergonomics a bit uncomfortable in the forward grip but, in my opinion they did a great job utilizing otherwise useless real estate, and it’s functional. When you need to choke up, you can. What makes this knife a real joy is the deployment (Spydie flick) and closing. Once you get used to the Spydie flick and compression lock, it’s hard not to love. Fast, smooth, intuitive, safe, and easy. Now, this doesn’t have anything to do with this model but, I think it’s very important to mention. Heat treatment. Spyderco is absolutely at the very top of their game when it comes to heat treatment, regardless of the steel type. FANTASTIC. I’ve been collecting for about 6 years and I’ve got well over $10,000 invested in knives. I’ve got a lot of them, and I still carry a Para 3 more than any other knife. Price isn’t bad either, and they’re always available. Thanks for reading all of this lol. Final thoughts…if you’re on the fence, BUY IT, USE IT, and see for yourself

Strange Ergonomics

I wanted to love this knife. On paper it seems perfect. Medium blade length, drop point, G10, s45, choil, etc. But it just feels… Awkward and uncomfortable to hold and use for me. When I compare it to the Delica’s ergonomics it’s like night and day.

Found this sentiment to be shared with many other p3 owners too.
