Writing this updated review after having used it on a couple of camping trips. Aside from the fact that it did not arrive sharp, this Condor Mini Duku parang is everything I hoped it would be. It chops amazingly well. I've cut down pine saplings with ease, and even chopped down a 5-6 inch thick log. I'm extremely pleased with the size, design and weighting of this parang, and the chopping power does not disappoint. This is replacing a hatchet for me as a slimmer and more versatile tool for working in the bush. It's also funner.
I did chip the tip off pretty quickly, which isn't really surprising as I've sometimes struck a stone when hacking at something. It's natural for a tip to chip off under such conditions.
This blade does rust very easily, so rainy conditions are a real enemy. I suppose the key is to wipe it dry and re-oil it as quickly as possible after it has gotten wet.
