I was absolutely amazed when I opened the Spyderco box.

The Micarta is beautiful, & provides a very secure grip giving the knife another supreme level in weight reduction. I have another Para Military 2 with G10 scales, but this knife with the Micarta is absolutely lighter in weight. It has become my backup (for my backpack) to my para Military 3 as my primary in the pocket.

As knifes go this one is up in the top 3 best folding knives with liner lock ever made.

Best three knives for in the Backcountry, I write backcountry just because the 3.5 inch blade length is problematic carry in some states for being in city limits.

Conclusion:

The Spyderco Paramilitary 2 with its 3.5 inch blade in one of these 3 steels either 1) Maxamet, 2) CPM S110V, or 3) CPM CruWear is best for being in the backcountry,

As for public areas/city venues same steels in the Paramilitary 3 with 3.0 inch blade should be legal & hastle free.

Hands down.

I really like this edition of the PM2. The steel is great and the feel or the micarta scales is really nice. Super fast shipping as always. I'll surely get another one!

This is my second PM2, the other being a s30v version.
Other than the obvious difference in steel, I find this one to be a little more robust with the full liners. It seems to stay centered better than my other one too.
Mine was super sharp out of the box and the micarta scales are very nice as well. However, I do wish Spyderco would start using a deep carry clip as standard.
